Good, but lacking to my ears (and foot) This head is just ok to me. If you are looking for an upgrade over a stock single ply head than this is a good one for that. Eliminates “boomy” overtones decently, but if you are looking for that fat, low, focused bass drum sound, upgrade to the Evans EMAD2 head. That said, if you want a real versatile, high quality head……this fits the bill. Without any internal dampening it’s fairly open sounding. But you can adjust it fairly successfully with a dampening pillow. I just think…
