It can handle up to 155dB SPL without introducing distortion to your sound. Plus, the switchable preattenuation pad lets you increase the mic’s headroom by 20dB. The Perception 170 is a heavy-duty microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. It picks up sounds arriving from the front of the capsule and picks up fewer rear sounds.
