A great alternative for an expensive model! I recently purchased this 1664 model to try it out and see how it compares to my other models that I own, ( Hohner,s 270 Deluxe, Suzuki SCX48 & 56,Seydel Saxony standard and orchestra C). I will have to say that I was really impressed with the Swan model. I would rate it as just about as good as the others. The tuning and the reed response are excellent. The low octaves especially are a little lower in volume though but the sound is very clear. Swan does have a patent on the wind savers that…
In all fairness , This Swan 1664 Chromatic is a great buy . . . I’ve got quite a few Swan Chromatic harmonicas and do not have any serious problems with them so far . This Swan 1664 is VERY GOOD : Reeds in-tune and stable , airtight great , volume loud enough , and the tone is enjoyable . At the price $56.50 , I would not demand more qualities from it . To compare this Swan to Hohner Super 64 ($250. +) or Suzuki SCX 64 ($200. / $300. +) is totally unfair . . . Those two harps are sure better than this Swan , but the difference is not very much…
