Not bad for a starter mandolin I chose this based on the Ibanez brand reputation, the appearance and the price. First off this is not a top of the line professional model which is reflected in the pricing. It is well built, and I find it stays in tune just fine. After replacing the strings and setting up the action and intonation it sounds and plays fine. Plugged in it has a little hum as is normal with single coil pickups, but at normal volumes and while playing you don’t notice. Just turn the volume down between songs and…
