Flatwounds and Cancer I have been a cancer patient for three years now and some of the drugs result in neuropathy in the fingers making roundwounds tough to play for anything over 10 minutes. I can play the flatwounds for hours! Wonderful therapy it is too.The electrics are “as advertised”. They are mellow and warm with a sharper attack and mellower than roundwounds, which is a plus or a negative depending on your style of music. Also the finger squeak is vastly reduced. I stung them on a LP…
Good quality, smooth playing feel I got these for a new PRS SE Zach Myers, which I believe came with 9 gauge strings on it. When I started playing guitar, I played acoustics, and between the shorter scale length (less string tension) and smaller gauge strings (less string tension), I was not comfortable with the playing feel. I tried the “Half Rounds” as an experiment, as I’m used to the traditional round wound strings. The feel is smoother when sliding and bending, but I can’t say if it makes a noticeable sound…
Quiet, bright light-gauge strings that solve problems I know they’re not new, but I just discovered half-round strings. The Gibson had nice flat wound strings that were very smooth and quiet, but they were too heavy and I cold barely pull them at all. So the Gibson wasn’t getting…
