5.5-inch “Lightning” Spun Aluminum Cone for Cigar Box Guitars & More

This is a spun aluminum cigar box resonator cone, manufactured by hand in the USA by CBG craftsman and author Charles Atchison. These are high quality cones, a bit thicker in construction than some of the others available, and they really ring like a bell. This one is 5.5 inches in diameter (139.7mm) and fits nicely into a 5-inch hole (127mm). The overall depth is about 0.5″ (12.7mm). The smaller size of this cone makes it perfect for use in standard-size cigar boxes (recommended width of at least 6 inches for best results. We also have a larger 7-inch “Thunder” model, for use in larger cigar boxes, silverware boxes, wine boxes and other such things. A resonator cone is a great way to take your cigar box guitar building to the next level, and tend to be highly sought after by buyers.
