Great Utility Boom for the Price My real rating for this would be 4.5 stars, if it was an option. This is based on its value for the price. I’ve worked with live sound reinforcement for over 30 years, back to the days when the main option was the old Atlas stands with the cast iron base and the pig iron counterweight you had to tighten with pliers to keep in place. For a small stand, this one performs admirably. Since the product description doesn’t include any meaningful dimensions, I’ve added some detailed dimensions at…
Compares well to more expensive brand My first desktop mic boom was the slightly more expensive Proline model at about $31. I’m very happy with it. When I needed to add another I thought I would try a brand that was nearly half the price of the Proline just for comparison, but it was out of stock. I saw this Samson MB1 and liked the reviews so decided to give it a try.I actually like it a little more than the Proline. Setting aside the $6 price advantage of the Samson, it stacks up very well in every category. In fact,…
Using in for podcasting anyways just so when folks come over I can act like I paid $85 for a tour ready mic stand … Frankly I am shocked and the quality of this boom stand. As a life long musician I am used to paying insane prices for anything that works event remotely as advertised. Frankly, I am so not accustomed that getting what I pay for that stand may be more than I needed. Where was this when I was paying $70 for any telescoping stand made in china? I am not complaining! There is no fair way to complain about getting 10x the quality product than you paid for based on the price, but I was actually…
