For toms and hi-hat, Roland includes the newly created PD-8 rubber pads with dual-trigger support for playing rim shots and bow/edge sounds with most V-Drums modules.
Great Rack Tom I bought two PD-85’s to replace the PD-8 that came with the TD-3 kit I bought several years ago. The PD-85 (mesh head) has a much better feel and sound than the PD-8 (rubber), so I’m very happy with my purchase.Just thought I’d mention that, with the TD-11 module, it sounds better when I tell the module that it’s a PD-8 than it does when I say that it’s a PD-85. On the PD-85 setting, the drum sounds muted, without the resonance of a drum. Don’t ask me why, it just sounds better…
