The PERFECT mallet for marimbas. I have been studying marimba for about a month now. I know how to play piano and organ so I’m already able to play it adequately although I have bought Mitchell Peters Fundamental Method for Mallets, Book 1 to help me develop my skills. Worst keyboard mallets I’ve ever owned. I teach MS and HS percussion and I must say, these are among the most disappointing yarn mallets I’ve ever bought. When I first got them, I liked the feel, weight and sound. However, the shaft on one stick bowed after about 2 weeks of normal use (perhaps 20 minutes per day, light practice). The bow is highly noticeable when playing or just looking at them. After 6 months of sporadic use, the yarn has started to separate and tear.
