These are great for jazz (Marcus Gilmore, no duh…) Don’t try anything heavier though, the moderately long taper and thin collar just before the bead tip make it an easy to break stick, not to mention the wood, which is not heartwood. I have been a marching IP guy for a long time, now that they’re venturing into set sticks, I’m trying them when I can. I played these while wearing IEMs and so wasn’t as sensitive as I would have been just playing the room. One cracked about half way through the…
