This mandolin is great for the cost

Pretty decent instrument Let me preface this by saying that I’m an intro mandolin player. It came packaged well without damage and the strings are decent enough to start out on, but I’ll echo a few other reviews I’ve read about this instrument by saying I think it would be a good idea to get new strings for it. This is a well made instrument. It’s beautiful and all the gear on it is straight and aligned well. It sounds great when its tuned right. It doesn’t have a “tin” ring to it like slightly cheaper…

(Looks like violin matte finish in the pics) The pick guard … Rcvd the mando quickly and packed ok. It is a little less than what I was hoping for. I have had an Ibanez acoustic guitar that I bought new in 1981 that was flawless and still is. Was hoping this would be the same. The finish is not as pictured and on the face of this one are imperfections under the gloss coat. (Looks like violin matte finish in the pics) The pick guard is mounted poorly. I removed it.
