Took me some getting used to but I like the result For about three decades playing mandolin I’ve used large triangular picks (well, rounded triangles, but I’ll leave that to the geometers) of different thicknesses looking for a sound I like. As a result my right hand got used to having a larger pick in it, so playing with these smaller picks takes a bit of an adjustment for me.I have to say, though, that the thickness and shape give me a most satisfactory tone — there’s less “plinkiness” (if you know what I mean, and mandolinists…
